Our Story
From the Beeginning...
In 2001, Jeanine Longo aka Bean or miss. beehave followed a bliss call and left her MA program to become a hairdresser. AVEDA checked all the boxes and trained her as a stylist in Minneapolis MN. After a ten month program she returned home to Brooklyn and opened a tiny hair salon in the heart of a just blooming Williamsburg Brooklyn. The Beehive Salon attracted a motley crew of passionate hair artists from all over the world and a clientele that appreciated the original salon's quirky, fun low key vibe and of course the salon's natural approach to beauty in a chemical world. Fast forward two more salon's and 10 years later...
The products
"Clean products" from other lines supported her work in the salon, "but I knew I could create something better. I had a decade worth of experience under my belt and I knew what hair needed to be healthy and beautiful. I found a chemist that understood my language and vision, and O'beehave was born. I hated plastic bottles in my field too, so I built a tap system. It worked! Clients got hooked because they saw a difference and enjoyed doing something good for the environment. I knew that I was onto something."
Refill bars
By utilizing our proprietary REfill Bar system, stylists and customers can customize their products and control how much or how little they purchase. The system is modern, fun and sustainable. We love the "this place is like a Starbucks, but for beauty" analogy. The hope is to have an O'beehave Naturals refill bar on more main streets and in more eco friendly salons that are looking for sustainable solutions. And our journey is just beginning!.
